2019 Volkswagen Atlas | 1 Year Ceramic Coating | Excelsior Auto Detailing | Windsor, ON

Hey everyone, it’s Andrew St-Pierre, owner of Excelsior Auto Detailing! Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas, and we gave it some much-needed love with a 1-year ceramic coating and stone chip touch-ups. This family-friendly SUV is now not only protected but looking better than ever.

If you’ve ever wondered why ceramic coatings are such a great option or why it’s important to touch up those small but annoying stone chips, I’ll explain both below. And for those of you who like to see the process in action, I’ve also made a video showing how we did it—check it out here.

Why Ceramic Coating?

A ceramic coating is one of the best ways to protect your car’s paint from daily wear and tear. While many people associate ceramic coatings with luxury cars, they’re just as beneficial for everyday vehicles like the Volkswagen Atlas. Here are the key benefits:

  1. Protection from the Elements The ceramic coating we applied on the Volkswagen Atlas forms a protective barrier against things like UV rays, bird droppings, tree sap, and even road salt. This protection is especially valuable in a climate where harsh weather conditions can cause paint damage over time.
  2. Easier to Clean With ceramic coating, dirt and water bead up and roll off the surface of your car. That means less grime sticks to your vehicle, and it makes washing your car a much quicker and easier task. The 1-year ceramic coating we applied will make sure the Atlas stays looking fresh between washes.
  3. Enhanced Appearance The coating gives the Atlas a deep, glossy finish that amplifies the vehicle’s paint color and clarity. Whether you’re at a stoplight or cruising on the highway, the Atlas will turn heads with its showroom-like shine.

Why We Touch Up Stone Chips in Car Paint

When it comes to small but noticeable stone chips, ignoring them can lead to bigger problems down the line. Stone chips are more than just a cosmetic issue—they expose your car’s metal to the elements, which can lead to rust over time.

Here’s why we touched up the stone chips on this Atlas before applying the ceramic coating:

  1. Prevents Rust and Corrosion Stone chips expose the metal beneath your car’s paint, leaving it vulnerable to rust. Touching them up helps seal the paint and prevents further damage.
  2. A Smooth Finish Touching up stone chips before applying the ceramic coating ensures a smooth, even surface. This is key because the ceramic coating will enhance the car’s finish, making imperfections more noticeable if they’re not addressed.
  3. Preserving Value Maintaining your vehicle’s paint not only keeps it looking great but also helps preserve its resale value. A well-maintained car is always more attractive to future buyers.
